How To Get Started With Merch By Amazon

Merch by Amazon is another income stream that I started about a year ago. I’m very appreciative of the income it brings in for as little work as I do. The whole process is extremely simple and it’s a great way to get started making money online.

If you haven’t already, make sure to apply to join Merch By Amazon, I’m not sure of their approval process, all I know that every few months they approve more sellers. Do this now! Don’t delay. Go to to get started.

Step #1: Choose A Niche/Theme

First things first, you want to choose what theme your t-shirts will be around. I know some marketers simply look at what’s trending and come up with designs.

It’s up to you. If you already have an audience or niche you’re in you can obviously create related designs. This does involve some creativity.

Step #2: Come Up With Designs

I use the Evernote app in my phone and keep all my t-shirt ideas. Think of images, sayings, puns, hashtags, etc. that would make a shirt attractive to your audience.

Think of trends that are happening in your niche. Funny shirts, catchy sayings, and eye-catching designs always sell well.

Step #3: Create or Order Designs

I’m no designer, I might be able to design a Kindle cover or two but I’m not skilled enough to create t-shirt designs. I order my designs on Fiverr. My designer is amazing and always gets the concept right.

I pay $15 for a design that includes an image. It’s less on Fiverr if you only want text.

Your t-shirt design needs to be 4500px x 5400px and 300DPI. Of course, it must be original, so make sure you’re not using anyone’s trademarked or copyrighted work.

Of course, the design must be original, so make sure you’re not using anyone’s trademarked or copyrighted work.

You can also create your own design, you can use programs like PicMonkey or Canva, ensure that whatever font you use that you have commercial rights to (look for items that are royalty free).

Step #4: Upload Design To Merch

Now the fun part! First things first, login to your dashboard and select the button that says “Upload Finished Work.”

Next, press the upload button and select the design from your computer. You can also upload a design for the back of your shirt as well by clicking on the “back” button. Then select “Save Selection and Continue.”

Then you’ll come to the “Configure Your Shirt” section. First, select your shirt type. You can choose between the Anvil Relaxed Fit and the Premium Brand. I suggest going with the premium brand, your customers will thank you for it later.

Plus, you don’t want any unrelated reviews about the quality on your shirt listing, this can be avoided by going premium.

Pick 5 t-shirt colors. Choose fit type: Men, Women, and or Children. Set your shirt cost, at the time of writing this I’ve been pricing my shirts at $16.99 using the Premium Brand. It’s totally up to you though.

Select “Save selection and continue.”

Additionally, you want to add your product details.

Brand name, which can be the name of your website/brand. Enter the “Title Of Your Project,” this will most likely be the actual text that’s on your shirt design if you have text. If not, simply name the t-shirt something relevant. Keep the search engines in mind when doing so.

I leave the “Key Product Features” section blank. Finally, enter your product description.

At last, you’ll come to a menu that will give you the option to save the design as a draft, do a sample link (they will send the link to your t-shirt on Amazon so you can review it), or relase the desing immediately into the marketplace.

I suggest you get the sample link sent to you for your few shirts until you get the process down, and also to just look over your work.

Keep In Mind…

When your account is new Merch may put a limit on the number of designs you’re able to sell. I’m silly, I only have six designs at the time of writing this but I remember when I was only allowed 25. Now I’m able to upload 10 a day and have 500 total.

It’s time to get to work! 🙂

Thanks for visiting, I hope you take action and get started with Merch By Amazon today!

How To Point Godaddy Nameservers To Bluehost Website 2017

It’s been a while since I went in pointed Godaddy my nameservers over to Bluehost. I use Godaddy to host all my domain names, it’s just easier and more organized that way. Since it’s been so long, it looks like Godaddy has changed their interface up a bit so I wanted to provide this tutorial for those who need it or may be new to this.

Since it’s been so long, it looks like Godaddy has changed their interface up a bit so I wanted to provide this tutorial for those who may be creating a new website or is simply in the need their Godaddy nameservers pointed at the host they are using.

Step #1: Login to your Godaddy account. You may have to get your customer number from your email to login to Godaddy.

Step #2:  Click on your name at the top right-hand corner of the Godaddy website and select “Manage Domains”.

Step #3: Under “Manage” click on the three dots, in the new window that opens up, select “Manage DNS”.  DNS simply means Domain Name Servers.

Step #4: Scroll down to where it says “Nameservers” and click “Change.”

Step #5: Under the drop-down menu select “Custom” as your nameserver type. Then, copy and paste  NS1.BLUEHOST.COM and NS2.BLUEHOST.COM into the Nameserver boxes and click save.

I will be documenting the process here of how I’m launching my newest book The 30 Day Dude Diet. I’m excited to launch this book because I know it will help women gain back control of their love life.

Not only is the title catchy *winks and smiles* but the whole project is exciting and I’m going to be marketing in an industry that I have never entered before… the dating industry *eyes wide in concern*.

Right now I’m using a course that I purchased long ago called “The Launch Bible” by Alex Jeffries.

I purchased many information products in my day and I still haven’t put a lot of them to use. Now I finally will see a return on my investment, hopefully.

I’m finished writing the bulk of the book, I just have to make sure to set up the back end. Of course, email marketing will play a huge role. My goal is to collect as many email addresses as I can so I can add more value to my readers and be able to contact them directly.

I’ll be busy setting up a website, email autoreponders, and sending the book to an editor after I finish adding a few finishing touches and go over it a few more times myself.

The cover is finished, I ordered it off Fiverr. Also, I purchased a domain name and made sure to create a Facebook group where the ladies will be able to interact while they’re going through the 30-day journey.

I’ll be updating you with the details of my launch process, in the meantime… cheer me on as I continue taking this course and applying the information. I’m nervous and yet excited because I never actually “launched” a product before.

I’ve done pre-orders, but never a real launch, it’s long overdue and I’m ready as hell.

I can remember back to the good times where I was rolling in the passive income without a care in the world! Lol jk, I actually never was “rolling in doe” particularly. But my income was awesome, especially for me having no kids and no crazy business expenses.

That’s the thing I love about online business, the overhead is very minimal. You can get started for free, there’s really no excuses.

I was traveling a lot these past two years, I did just enough to keep enough income coming in to where I could support myself. I also had help, I was married and he was working so we were splitting the bills in half.

I keep thinking back to what Tony Robbins said, “You earn what you must earn, not a cent more.” It’s one of the truest statements! I’ve always earned either just enough or a little more than what I needed. My online income has never surpassed $5,000 a month.

As I look back, I regret not working harder. But I believe there is a lesson in every experience. I had my fun, now it’s time to get to work. I got complacent and lazy because of passive income.

I was in denial, but my income dropping the way it has was a real eye opener for me. Not only did I stop working on my business the way I should. I also stopped reading books and listening to motivational and informational videos like I used to when I first got started online.

There were times I’d go weeks without working. It’s really a shame. I was taking everything for granted.

The lesson here is to keep going. I knew what I should be doing. But just as Wesley Virgin says, “what’s easy to do is also easy not to do.”

The Switch

Right now I’m focusing on daily income producing activities that are non-negotiable, such as:

  • eBay listings for my drop-shipping business
  • creating CreateSpace books for the Kindle books I already have published
  • writing 5k+ words a day (working on new books – btw check out my Fiverr Gig I’m not sure how long I’ll be offering it)
  • creating audiobooks for the books I already have published (either creating them myself or hiring narrators)

I’m rewiring my mindset. I feel like not having the proper mindset was also a part of why I kept starting and stopping in my business. I’ve been listening to relevant success videos, audiobooks, podcasts, etc.

I know focus and consistency are two key factors in creating income. I’ve lacked in both of those areas. I really had to crack down and decide that I will only be focusing on my site and my natural hair site. I have so many other projects and ideas, but those will have to wait!

This gives me a peace of mind. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed trying to make money online, it might be because you’re being swayed in so many different directions. The internet has endless opportunities to make money. Try focusing on one business until you build up that income stream to where it can either run on its own or you outsource the work so that the stream that you’re working on doesn’t deplete.

I’ve been a person with good intentions for the longest time. I’m finally exposing myself and putting action where my mouth is. It feels amazing!

The books I’m reading now are Six Months To Six Figures by Peter Voogd, and The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris.
